COURSE DESCRIPTION:  An examination of our American Empire from the first English colonization of North America to the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Investigating how we got to our present military/corporatized empire and asking what this means to us and what we should do about it. The course will use the book: Dismantling the Empire: America's Last Best Hope, by Chalmers Johnson along with videos and articles to inform our discussions.
